About the Project

This project investigates the relationship between home run hitting power and team winning success across collegiate softball divisions:

  • NCAA Division I
  • NCAA Division II
  • NCAA Division III
  • Junior College (JUCO / NJCAA)

It builds upon earlier milestones: - Milestone 3 (Team offensive metrics) - Milestone 4 (Individual Division I hitters) - Milestone 5 (Collegiate softball divisions analysis)

Data Sources

  • Individual Hitters: NCAA Division I hitting statistics compiled via the SCORE sports data repository and NCAA official softball stats (2,175 players with 100+ PA).
  • Collegiate Divisions: Team season statistics gathered from NCAA official statistics via softballR and NJCAA official softball statistics (1,286 collegiate programs).
